Free Cancellation — 24+ Hours Before Departure

Cancel your Blue Cave tour at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure and receive a full refund. No questions asked. This applies to all tour types, including private tours, group tours, and sunset tours.

We believe you should never feel locked into a booking. Travel plans evolve, and we make it easy to change yours.

Refund Tiers

How much you receive back depends on when you cancel relative to your scheduled departure time:

All times are based on your tour’s scheduled departure in local Dubrovnik time (CET/CEST).

Why These Tiers?

Our boat tours require advance preparation — fuel, crew scheduling, safety equipment checks, and provisioning. Cancellations closer to departure leave us with costs that cannot be recovered. The tiered structure balances fairness to you with the operational reality of running safe, well-prepared tours on the Adriatic.

Weather Cancellations — Full Refund, Always

If we cancel your tour due to weather, you receive a 100% refund or a free reschedule — your choice. There is no tier, no partial refund, and no penalty.

Our captain and crew make the final call on whether conditions are safe for departure. This decision is based on:

  • Sea state and wave height
  • Wind speed and direction
  • Visibility conditions
  • Official maritime weather advisories for the Dubrovnik coast and open Adriatic

Passenger safety comes first. We will never push through unsafe conditions to avoid issuing a refund. If our team determines that sea conditions make the voyage to the Blue Cave or the Elaphiti Islands unsafe, the tour will not depart.

You will be notified of a weather cancellation as early as possible — typically the evening before or early morning of your tour date.

What Counts as a Weather Cancellation?

Only cancellations made by the operator (us) due to unsafe sea conditions qualify for a full weather refund. If you choose to cancel because of rain or overcast skies but conditions are safe for sailing, the standard refund tiers above apply. Light rain does not prevent tour operation — our boats have covered seating areas.

Free Rescheduling to Any Available Date

Don’t want a refund? We offer free rescheduling to any available date during your stay in Dubrovnik — no fees, no price difference to pay (even if the new date has higher demand).

Rescheduling is available:

  • For weather cancellations — always, at no cost
  • For personal cancellations made 24+ hours in advance — free reschedule to any open date
  • For personal cancellations made 12–24 hours in advance — reschedule with the 50% cancellation fee waived if an equivalent slot is available

To reschedule, simply contact us with your booking reference and preferred new date. We will confirm availability and update your booking immediately.

This is especially helpful if you are visiting Dubrovnik for several days — rather than cancelling, shift your morning tour or afternoon tour to a day with better weather or fewer commitments.

How to Cancel Your Booking

Cancelling is straightforward. Choose whichever method is most convenient:

Send your cancellation request to info@bluecavetoursdubrovnik.com with your booking reference number, the name on the booking, and your tour date. We respond to all cancellation emails within 2 hours during business hours.

WhatsApp

Message us on WhatsApp at +385 XX XXX XXXX. This is the fastest option — most cancellations are confirmed within minutes. Include your booking reference so we can process it immediately.

Online

Visit our contact page and submit a cancellation request through the form. Select “Cancellation / Reschedule” as the subject.

  • Whether you prefer a refund or a reschedule

You will receive a confirmation email once your cancellation or reschedule is processed.

Refund Processing Time

Once your cancellation is confirmed, here is when you can expect your money back:

Refunds are returned to the original payment method. If you paid by card, the refund goes back to the same card. We cannot issue refunds to a different card or account.

If you booked through a third-party platform, please also check their cancellation terms, as some platforms have their own policies that apply in addition to ours.

Haven’t Received Your Refund?

If the expected processing time has passed and you have not received your refund:

  1. Check your bank or card statement carefully — refunds sometimes appear under a different name
  2. Contact your bank or card issuer, as some institutions take longer to process
  3. If you still need help, contact us with your booking reference and we will trace the refund

Group Bookings and Private Charters

For private boat tours and large group bookings (10+ passengers), the same refund tiers apply. However, we encourage groups to reschedule rather than cancel — we are flexible with dates and will work with you to find an alternative.

For yacht charters and custom multi-day bookings, cancellation terms may differ. These are confirmed in writing at the time of booking. If you are unsure about the terms for your specific reservation, get in touch and we will clarify.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel part of a group booking?

Yes. If some members of your group can no longer attend, you can reduce the number of passengers. We will refund the difference based on the applicable tier. The tour proceeds as scheduled for the remaining passengers.

What if my flight is delayed and I miss the tour?

We understand that travel disruptions happen. If your flight is delayed and you contact us before departure, we will do our best to reschedule you at no charge. If you do not notify us and miss the tour, the under-12-hour policy applies.

Do you offer travel insurance?

We do not sell travel insurance directly, but we strongly recommend purchasing a policy that covers trip cancellations and delays. This provides an extra layer of protection beyond our cancellation policy.

What happens if only part of the tour is completed?

If a tour must return early due to changing sea conditions, mechanical issues, or other factors beyond passenger control, we will offer a partial refund or a discounted rebooking proportional to the portion of the tour not completed.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?

Yes. If you cannot attend but know someone who can take your place, let us know at least 12 hours before departure. We will update the booking at no cost.
